Metal Finishes

Blast and blue - $199.99* A base finish good to get your favorite brush buster back in shape, includes a cleaning. All parts are sandblasted and hot salt blued leaving a very matte finish that does an excellent job protecting your firearms from the conditions.

Strip and blue - $239.99* We strip all the old bluing off and give it a quick polish. A great finish for your favorite old hunting gun that maybe just needs to be spruced up and protected.

Hunters finish - $299.99* A great restoration of your favorite firearm, includes a cleaning. All parts are sandblasted and hand polished to a 325 grit finish before buffing, leaves a nice satin finish comparable to most modern firearm finish.

Master finish - $375.99+ Reserved for you favorite fine firearms. Similar to black chrome this is a mirror finish found on many high grade, high end firearms. Depending on steel we polish these guns almost entirely by hand the old way careful not to effect any engraving. Polished to 400 grit or higher until we can see our reflections and then run through our buffing process. These guns tend to get much more attention than they deserve as we take them as a matter of pride. There isn’t much more satisfying than presenting a favorite gun to a customer that looks better than they’ve ever seen it. We’d love to show you a picture but pictures turn out looking more like chrome than bluing.

Belgian Bluing - $350.00 Many double shotguns are soft soldered so they cannot be hot salt blued like the above finishes. Polished to 325 and just kissed with the buffer they tend to turn out with a bit more shine than the hunters finish.

*Pit removal - $75.00/hr Many of the normal light pits come out in the standard blasting and polishing process but heavy pitting will require more work like draw filing. Filing and polishing pits is probably one of the more maddening things we do but it is satisfying to get them out. If your gun is going to require extra work we will notify you up front that it will be an issue.
